Welcome to Structural Mechanics
We at the Division of Structural Mechanics are driven by understanding engineering problems and conducting research that contributes to solving societal challenges. Our core areas are Structural Mechanics, Constitutive Modelling and Computational Methods.
We have a strong focus on high-quality teaching, we publish our research outcome in high-quality journals and we have access to well equipped labs. We are proud to belong to a university that is ranked among the top 100 in the world and we enjoy the international environment in which we operate.
The Division of Structural Mechanics is a part of the Department of Building Sciences and is pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as research in a variety of areas:
- Computer-based methods
- Fluid-structure interaction
- Material modelling
- Wood-based materials
